I waded the Dunedin Causeway last Tuesday and Wednesday hoping to find a school or two of big winter trout but was unsuccessful. I'm not sure why they haven't shown up there yet when I know they're roaming other areas in St Joseph Sound. However, on Tuesday my partner hooked what we estimated to be a 40" class snook that he eventually lost as his 15 lb leader gave way. The next day, I hooked and landed a 24" snook and a 24 1/2" gag grouper - the first keeper grouper I've landed in over 40 years of wade fishing. Needless to say I was surprised.
