Between holiday house guests and a nasty cold front that came through the weekend before Christmas, I wasn’t able to get out to wade some of my favorite spots. So instead, I had no choice but to fish from my dock and the bayou in my backyard. Over a three day period, I caught close to a dozen snook, several redfish, a couple of trout and probably a hundred ladyfish and jacks. Sometimes you forget to look at what’s right in front of your face (or right behind it in my case).
